MY AFRICAN HAIR IS ...

MY AFRICAN HAIR IS ...

My hair is a Bluffalo,
A beautiful fallow of green grasses
Pigmented in black, cemented on my skull, so ebony.

Every strand of my hair is the pieces
That tells the African story under the tree
That looks Afro Haired against the Shining Moon
In a bleak black dark sky that gives Stars
The freedom to shine in luxury.

Every strand of my hair is the pieces
That tells the African story
In an undiluted, unscripted, unedited
Narrative that fleshes out in flesh and blood
What it is, to be an African.

My African hair is a testament of my epistle,
The epistle of Quest through Civilization,
Civilization through Skillful Artisan,
Skillful Artisans through Slavery,
Slavery through Self-Discovery,
Self-Discovery through Self-Esteem,
Self-Esteem through Innovations;
Charting the course of our narrative,
Telling ourselves our truth
Like when an African man molds eba with his palm, softly,
And dips it into a multi-cultural Egusi Soup with different ethnic groups
And lodges it into his mouth,
The result is a well-built, able-bodied African man like Okonkwo
Who can strike the back of all his obstacles
On the African sand to claim victory in every fight.

My African hair is a skyscraper
That coils in its root off the ground,
Its not as if she is shy,
She's just too humble, being proud,
She loves it when real men come to discover
The beauty of her depth in warmth
That squeezes the juices of eternal joy
That comes with being there, when you are there.
She's not short, she's long - just stretch her,
She's thick, not frail - just feel the brittle-rittle feel of it in between your thumb and index finger;
Oh! She's absolutely Roh...man...thick...

My African hair feels good when skillful hands
Moves inside of her like a Hunter in search for a Game
Skillfully tip-toeing to strike a chord that sounds, "gboa!"
That moment when the Game lies seemingly lifeless
As the Hunter screams in his heart of heart, "eureka!"
Thank God, I made, now I come well and my people will welcome
As a great Hunter in the Town's Square.

My African hair is my golden crown,
The very crown nature bestowed on me
Without spilling, sacrificing bloods on the altar.
My African Hair is my Pride in whom I'm well pleased.
